The Chordaires are a friendly, fun and dynamic group of women of various ages who love to sing and entertain the community with their four part harmony, barbershop style of a cappella singing. Our members are dedicated to the promotion of musical excellence, creating harmony, and enriching the lives of others through friendship, education, and self esteem among women.
Founded in 1979, Chordaires model their artistry from the Sweet Adelines, a women’s barbershop organization. Many members have been former members of Sweet Adelines. Though no affiliation, The Chordaires continue to preserve this truly unique, American style of music for the betterment of the community.
Our rehearsals take place in the Mirror Room of Oakwood Country Club from October through mid-April from 1-3:30. It is here where we practice our art, prepare for our shows, and other smaller sing outs throughout the community.
All of our rehearsal are ‘open rehearsals’ so if you are interested in joining, you can try us on and see if the Chordaires is a good fit for your artistic inclinations. Our director will help you with proper voice placement to make sure your musical instrument blends and contributes as best it can with the chorus.
